About us

Built for accounting firms. Only accounting firms.

We work with one kind of client: Australian accounting firms. Not bookkeepers, financial planners, mortgage brokers or other professional services. The TPB requirements, professional title rules and financial-year search patterns of the accounting sector are all we work on.

Who we work with

Accounting firms that want more of the right enquiries from search. Tax accountants, business advisory practices and SMSF specialists across Australia. We do not work with financial planners, payroll providers or other professional services. Accounting firms only.

Who you will be dealing with

Lachlan, founder of Accountant Marketing
Lachlan
Founder, Accountant Marketing

I'm Lachlan, and I started Accountant Marketing because accounting search rewards specialists. Service intent, a year that turns on tax time and EOFY, and strict rules about titles and designations are a discipline of their own, and a generalist agency treats them as an afterthought.

I've worked in digital marketing for four years. Before this I ran paid search for a seven-figure ecommerce brand: 400 to 500 campaigns and around $500,000 in ad spend. That is where I learned to judge marketing by enquiries and cost per client, not by traffic.

I have also built and shipped more than 20 web products end to end, so the technical side of search, from site structure to tracking, is familiar ground.

When you request an audit, it is written by a person who has looked at your website, your Maps profile and the firms you compete with. You keep it whether or not we work together.

  • 4 years in digital marketing

  • 400 to 500 paid search campaigns managed
  • 20+ web products shipped end to end

How we work

Marketing consultant and an accountant working through reports and a laptop at a meeting table
  • No lock-in

Month to month. You can end the arrangement at any time, and you keep every account, domain, website and piece of content we produce.

  • You own everything

Google Business Profile, Google Ads, your website, Analytics. All accounts sit in the firm's own name from day one. We are never the account holder.

  • Planned to the financial year

Content and campaign activity is planned around the Australian financial year: tax time, EOFY, each BAS quarter. The work is timed to match when clients are searching.

  • Reviewed by a partner

Every page and ad is reviewed by a partner at the firm for technical accuracy before it goes live. Nothing is published without the firm's approval.

  • One business day

Every enquiry to us and every message from your firm is answered within one business day. In writing.

  • Google Partner and Meta Business Partner

We hold both partnerships, which gives access to account-level support and early access to beta features on Google Ads.

What working with us looks like

Everything starts with the free written audit. From there the work runs in the same order for every firm.

  1. Before anything is signed

    The free written audit

We review your rankings, Maps profile, website, competitors and enquiry handling for the suburbs you serve, and send you a written report. You keep it either way.

  2. Agreed in writing

    Services and areas

We choose the services and areas worth winning, agree your service-area exclusivity in writing, and set a fixed monthly scope. Month to month, with no lock-in.

  3. First month

    Access and the calendar

Accounts are set up in the firm's own name, or we are given access to the ones you already have. Activity is mapped to your financial year: tax time, EOFY and each BAS quarter.

  4. Ongoing

    Pages, profile and campaigns

Service pages, your Maps profile, campaigns and content. Every page and ad is reviewed by a partner at the firm for technical accuracy before it goes live.

  5. Every week and month

    Reporting you can read

A short progress note each week. Each month: enquiries by service and source, rankings, spend and what changes next.

One firm per service area

Once we accept a firm for a service in an area, we do not take on a competing accounting firm for that service in that area while we work together. Service areas are agreed in writing during the audit, typically as a cluster of suburbs or a city region, and the arrangement holds for the life of the engagement.

What we will not do

Consultant sliding a printed document back across a meeting table
  • Accept a competing accounting firm for the same service in the same area as an existing client.
  • Publish testimonials, client names, revenue figures or any other result that is not supported by a verifiable source.
  • Use a professional title or designation (CA, CPA, IPA, or any SMSF accreditation) that the firm does not hold.
  • Imply a firm provides licensed financial advice unless it holds an Australian financial services licence or authorisation.
  • Hold any account on the firm's behalf. Not the domain, not Google Ads, not Analytics.

Professional and regulatory requirements

Tax agent services may only be advertised and provided by registered tax agents and BAS agents under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 and the TPB Code of Professional Conduct. Professional designations such as CA, CPA and IPA belong to members of CA ANZ, CPA Australia and the IPA respectively, and content may only claim the titles the firm holds. Advice about SMSFs and financial products generally requires an Australian financial services licence or authorisation. All advertising is subject to the Australian Consumer Law. We work within these requirements and ask a partner at the firm to review content for technical accuracy before it is published. We are marketers, not lawyers or compliance specialists. We point firms to their own advisers on questions of professional obligations.
