At a glance
The table below draws directly from what each agency states on its own website. The Practice and Pixels column reflects what appears on practiceandpixels.com.au as of October 2026. Our column reflects the terms we offer to every accounting firm we work with.
| Accountant Marketing | Practice and Pixels | |
|---|---|---|
| Client focus | Accounting firms only | The site describes a brand and digital content agency for accountants, lawyers, financial planners, coaches, brokers and other professional firms, across Australia, the US and the UK |
| Pricing published | No; scope and fee are agreed in writing after the audit | Yes. The accountants page lists monthly marketing retainers at $3,000 and $4,500 a month, each with a set-up fee |
| Services | SEO including Google Business Profile and Maps pack, Google Ads, websites, content marketing | Branding, websites, digital marketing (SEO, Google Ads, social media across LinkedIn, Meta and TikTok), content marketing, email marketing, video content |
| Social media management | Not a service we offer | The site lists social media marketing across LinkedIn, Meta and TikTok as part of its digital marketing offering |
| Pre-engagement audit | Free written firm audit covering rankings, Google Business Profile, website enquiry path, competitor check and service area availability | Not found on their website |
| Territory exclusivity | One firm per service area per service, agreed in writing; once accepted, we will not take on a competing firm for that service in that area | Not found on their website |
| Contract terms | Month-to-month, no lock-in | Not found on their website |
| Account ownership | The firm owns its website, domain, content, Google Business Profile, Google Ads and analytics from day one | Not found on their website |
| Reporting | Weekly progress updates plus a plain-English monthly report of enquiries by service and source, with price shoppers noted separately | The retainers on the accountants page list a quarterly analytics report; the larger retainer adds monthly email updates and check-ins |
| Content approval | A partner at the firm reviews content for technical accuracy; nothing is published without firm approval | Not found on their website |
Several points in the Practice and Pixels column show "not found on their website". That does not mean those terms do not exist; it means we did not find them stated publicly. Ask directly about contract terms, account ownership and exclusivity before signing an engagement.
About Practice and Pixels
Practice and Pixels describes itself on its about page as a leading brand, website, and digital marketing agency for professional service firms across Australia, the US and the UK. The same page states its team are senior marketers with hands-on experience marketing in accounting firms for over 10 years, and that the agency takes a brand-first approach.
Its homepage names accountants, lawyers, financial planners, coaches and brokers among the firms it works for. It lists a Queensland phone number, and its portfolio page shows branding, website and content projects for a range of professional service practices.
Services compared
3.1 What each agency offers
Practice and Pixels covers a broader set of services than we do. Its digital marketing page lists SEO, Google Ads, social media marketing across LinkedIn, Meta and TikTok, social media video, email marketing, digital strategy and consulting, website hosting and maintenance, and reporting. It also offers standalone branding and identity programmes, website design, a video content retainer, and email marketing as a separate service.
Our services are narrower by design: SEO for accountants including the Google Business Profile and Maps pack, Google Ads for accountants, website design for accounting firms and content marketing for accountants. We do not offer branding, social media management, email marketing, video production or website hosting.
3.2 Which firms each agency serves
Practice and Pixels works with professional service firms broadly. Its service pages and contact form mention accounting, legal and financial planning as the industries it primarily serves. The agency positions its work around brand building and marketing for professional services as a category, not accounting as a dedicated specialism. Its client examples span firms from across those professions.
We work only with accounting firms. Every page we write, every campaign we run and every report we produce is built around how accounting clients search: the annual compliance cycle, the BAS quarters, EOFY advisory work and the different ways that individual, business and SMSF clients look for an accountant. A firm that also wants legal or financial planning marketing, or that wants a single agency handling multiple professions, may find Practice and Pixels a better fit for that scope.
Pricing, contracts and account ownership
Practice and Pixels publishes its monthly marketing retainers on its accountants page. As listed in October 2026, The Coordinator, for small firms, is $3,000 a month with a $900 set-up fee, and The Manager, for firms with five to fifteen staff, is $4,500 a month with a $1,200 set-up fee. Each retainer lists set management hours, blog posts, social media posts, email campaigns and SEO hours. We do not publish fees: scope and fee are agreed in writing after the audit, because they depend on the services, the area and the competition.
On our side, the terms are stated here and repeated in every engagement letter: month-to-month with no lock-in period, and the firm owns every account from day one. That includes the website, domain, all content, Google Business Profile, Google Ads account and analytics. If the engagement ends for any reason, nothing is taken back.
Practice and Pixels does not state its contract terms, notice period or account ownership policy on its website. Before any engagement we recommend asking three things directly: what is the minimum commitment, what notice is needed to cancel, and who owns the website, ad accounts and content if the engagement ends. Our own position on all three is written into the engagement before work begins.
Territory exclusivity is not addressed on the Practice and Pixels website. We agree a service area in writing at the audit stage, and will not accept a competing firm for the same service in that area for as long as the engagement runs. The service area is a cluster of suburbs or a city region, agreed between us. If an area is already held by an existing client, we say so before any proposal is made.
Reporting and communication
Practice and Pixels lists a quarterly analytics report in its retainers, and its larger retainer adds monthly email updates and check-ins. Its digital marketing page also describes planning in 90-day sprints with a review after the first 90 days. Firms considering them should ask what the quarterly report covers and how enquiries are categorised.
Our reporting runs on a fixed schedule. A weekly update covers what was done and what is in progress. A monthly plain-English report sets out enquiries broken down by service type and by source, with price shoppers noted separately and not counted as qualified enquiries. The report is written for a practice partner rather than a marketing team, so it uses enquiry numbers and service categories rather than impressions and click rates. A reply to any email from an existing client goes out within one business day.
When Practice and Pixels may suit you better
Practice and Pixels is likely the stronger choice in several situations. If your firm needs brand and identity work, a logo refresh or a full brand strategy, it offers that as a primary service. We do not offer branding. If you want social media management, video content or email newsletters managed alongside your website and search marketing, Practice and Pixels handles all of those channels under one retainer.
If your firm sits within a broader professional services group that also includes legal or financial planning practices, or if you want a single agency with documented experience across those professions, Practice and Pixels serves all three. Ask them directly about contract length, account ownership and whether they work with competing firms in the same area before committing, as those details are not stated publicly on their website.
